Then I transfer the ones I want to edit further into Lightroom, either on my iPhone or computer. If you have a good internet connection where you'll be, the iCloud Photo Library syncing is working very well for me, using "optimize storage" on my iPhone and "download originals" on my computer. All my images are RAW and there are a usually a lot. I am just worried of running out of space on the ipad. I suppose I could do it like you and upload everything onto the ipad and then later transfer to the imac. However these are cheap third party things that may not work well. You can apparently connect numerous devices to the ipad with devices similar to the sd card reader you mentioned, which I also have. Not sure how you can connect your external HD to your iPad though - is there a way to do that? Lightroom Mobile doesn't have all the functionality of Lightroom Desktop, but it has most of the things I use and the edits sync back to the desktop. I am using Lightroom CC and I import photos using the lightning SD card reader to my iPhone or iPad and everything works fine. ![]() The question is, has anyone done this, and does it work? The lightning etc combo is cheap and has mixed reviews, I would just like to hear if anyone has done this prior to committing. The only reason I would change to CC would be if I could take my camera, external HD and iPad on trips, and each night connect the three with a lightning/usb/card reader combo and edit using CC and then not have to do anything at home except sync it all. In short, currently I go away, come back with 2000 photos and import, delete, catalogue and edit on my iMac at home. I am weighing up the move to CC for holiday/vacation photography.
